Projects
The Green
We recently received permission from the Holistic Cancer Centre to renovate the telephone box that they own in the village. As a charity they don't have spare funds for this but as a village we can do something about it. Over the next few weeks we will be cleaning, sanding, painting and fitting out the box as a book exchange for the village. This is a common use for old phone boxes and we will provide donation QR codes in the kiosk for the cancer centre to help and support the cause.
In addition to this we will be repairing and renovating the 5 benches around the green that are looking a bit tired and sprucing up the notice board on the green. if you are a member of Your Willaston you will have already received your email asking for help with this project. If you aren't a member but want to support what we are doing for the village then please email yourwillaston@gmail.com and we would love to hear from you.
Willaston Walks
The village has several walk marked out by posts and signs. Unfortunately time and age are showing and the posts have lost there coloured markings in some cases and in other faded so much they are hard to make out. One of our wonderful volunteers has taken on the task of refreshing these posts.
In the first instance thanks to the help of Jane Townsend who arranged their initial installation, the posts will be identified by location, mapped and then the colours on the posts refreshed. Once this is done we intend to investigate the possibility of replacing the posts with a composite option to give longevity to the walk markers and enhance the experience. We are currently engaged with Neston Youth and Community Centre as part of a Living Well sub group and our village walks can form part of the social prescribing network available to GPs to support mental health.
Your Willaston AGM
It's been a while since we had a meeting for many reasons but this is an opportunity to come and see what we are about. We will be holding our meeting on the Tuesday 6th October 2026 at the Memorial Hall between 7 and 8pm. Members and non members are all welcome.
Your Willaston as a public limited company files accounts with HMRC to give transparency with regard to funds. 'Lets face it if it was my donation I'd like to know where it went'. (Tony Ashcroft 2025) These accounts are available to the public on the Companies House website but we wanted to drop a copy here to make it more accessible. All we do is voluntary and every penny contributed goes to benefit this village that is Your Willaston.

More Pollards Updates September 2026
It's on Social Media with rumours rife but we can confirm that Pollards will be open very very soon. Whilst dates and times on these projects are never set in stone we can tell you that the new tenant is pushing hard to be open soon and we will be hosting a Farmers Market there on November 7th.
